Gibson. It’s a brand that many associate with quality. And for the longest time, Gibson was the sharp-end of the stick when it came to guitars – especially if you’re a fan of the Les Paul cut.

Gibson’s Les Paul is used by the greats. Adam Jones uses them exclusively. Buzz Osbourne did most of his best work with a Gibson Les Paul. But increasingly, Gibson’s dominant position is waning. More and more players, myself included, are looking elsewhere for Les Paul-style cuts.
